DC Chamber of Commerce Annual Chamber’s Choice Awards Gala Honors Champions of Change, Reinvention & Resilience

“In light of this year’s unprecedented time, we created new awards and took a deeper look at the awardees and the ingenious strategies they’ve implemented to address food insecurity, workforce and economic challenges, and the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Angela Franco, Interim President and CEO, DC Chamber of Commerce.

WASHINGTON, D.C. November 12, 2020 (Biz Republic) — The DC Chamber of Commerce announces this year’s Chamber’s Choice Awards honoring Champions of Change, Reinvention and Resilience. Awardees include the Honorable Muriel Bowser, Mayor of D.C., Dr. Anthony Fauci and more. The hybrid event will celebrate honorees in-person as well as virtually online on Saturday, November 14, 2020, 5:30-7:30 PM.

“In light of this year’s unprecedented time, we created new awards and took a deeper look at the awardees and the ingenious strategies they’ve implemented to address civic unrest, food insecurity, workforce and economic challenges, and of course the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Angela Franco, Interim President and CEO, DC Chamber of Commerce.

This year’s Chamber’s Choice honors organizations and individuals whose outstanding contributions are making Washington a great place to do business. Mayor Bowser is a longtime friend and supporter of local businesses and this year’s 2020 Champion of Change Awardee.

She is being honored for her commitment to making sure every Washingtonian gets a fair shot in a growing a prosperous Washington, DC. Her commitment has resonated through her policies and initiatives over the years and rapid response to support and engage residents and businesses through this recession.

Dr. Fauci, hailed as a medical leader significantly impacting the health of the United States, is being honored with the Humanitarian Business Award. Since January 2020, he has been one of the lead members of the Trump administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.

Dr. Fauci is one of the world’s leading experts on infectious diseases, and during the early stages of the pandemic The New Yorker and The New York Times described him as one of the most trusted medical figures in the United States. He has served as an advisor to every U.S. president since Ronald Reagan.

By tradition, the Chairman & Chamber’s Choice Awards will be presented live during the ceremony, where Washington’s dignitaries, corporate citizens, and business owners celebrate the year’s business and civic successes together.
