NEW YORK, NY. June 26, 2025 — The 30th Chashama Gala 2025 is an iconic, vibrant, and immersive feast of creativity held every year in New York City — and this year’s event takes place tonight, June 26, dubbed the “Burning Man of Galas.”
The gala also serves as a major fundraising event for Chashama, an organization that provides affordable work and presentation spaces for artists, supports community engagement through the arts, and drives urban revitalization. Since 1995, Chashama has transformed vacant storefronts, offices, and properties across New York City into spaces for galleries, presentations, and performances — all donated to artists of all disciplines.
Anita Durst, Founder of Chashama, and her team work closely with property owners and developers to match spaces with dedicated artists, offer free art classes, and create retail opportunities for small, accredited businesses.
Key highlights of the event include:
● Immersive Art Experience: A “labyrinth of interactive installations” and over 300 performers invite guests to explore and engage with art in a free-flowing, open environment.
● Diverse Performances and Installations: The event features a dynamic range of live performances, art installations, and immersive encounters created by some of NYC’s most inventive talents.
● Support for the Arts: Proceeds enable Chashama to fund initiatives like providing space for more than 200 free art classes, maintaining over 180 workspaces for artists, producing theater, dance, and music events, and empowering minority- and women-owned enterprises.
● Unique and Daring Atmosphere: Known for its bold dress code and over-the-top aesthetic, the gala features unique art displays and interactive exhibits that transport guests into a whimsical and fantastical world.
● Late-Night Festivities: Unlike traditional galas, the Chashama Gala extends well into the night with a lively dance floor, an open bar, and late-night snacks.
