JERSEY CITY, NJ. November 25, 2024 (Biz Republic) — On Tuesday, November 26th, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Jack and Ronnie McGreevey Civic Association will provide critical assistance for the homeless community by offering social services and resources inside St. Lucy’s Emergency Shelter (619 Grove Street, Jersey City).
The event will provide general health screenings, dental care, vision and hearing screenings, substance abuse counseling, immunizations, AIDs testing, and skin care products free of charge. We will also provide house placement assistance, financial counseling, food stamps, cash assistance, job employment, emergency food packages, and additional support to those facing homelessness, addressing immediate needs and creating a pathway to ongoing care.
Jack and Ronnie’s son Jim McGreevey shared, “Mom and Dad always emphasized giving back to your community. The Civic Association operates in their old neighborhood in Jersey City, and our collaboration with St. Lucy’s Shelter expands our mission of serving all those in need in our City.”
This event is part of the Jack and Ronnie McGreevey Civic Association’s broader dedication to reducing barriers to essential services and championing the dignity of Jersey City’s homeless population. By bringing services directly into the shelters, the Association is helping to eliminate obstacles that prevent those experiencing homelessness from accessing necessary health and social support resources.
In addition, the event will feature a nutritious meal distribution and personalized care packages to ensure participants receive both sustenance and comfort. All services provided will be free of charge, affirming the association’s commitment to serve and uplift those who need it most.
