2024 International Trade Awards to Recognize Leading NJ Exporters, May 15

The New Jersey District Export Council (NJDEC) is an organization of leaders from across New Jersey whose knowledge of international business provides a source of professional advice for local firms.

TRENTON, NJ. April 19, 2024 (NJBIA/NJDEC) — Registration is now open for the 2024 International Trade Awards on May 15, when the New Jersey District Export Council (NJDEC) will recognize the achievements of leading exporters during a program filled with insightful panel discussions and ample networking opportunities. Businesspeople interested in international trade are encouraged to attend this event on Wednesday, May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Galloping Hill Golf Course in Kenilworth. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals from across the state. During the panel discussions, experts will share their experiences and strategies for success in the ever-evolving global marketplace. The NJDEC will also honor four New Jersey businesses, including New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) member ZAGO Manufacturing of Newark, that have made significant contributions to international trade. The 2024 International Trade Award winners and their categories include:

Exporter of the Year: Repechage: Awarded to a New Jersey company that has grown its exports and made exporting a cornerstone of its business.

Service Exporter of the Year: Kallman Worldwide Inc. – Awarded to a New Jersey company that is successfully exporting services. Examples include, but are not limited to, architectural, engineering, legal, financial, construction, accounting, and consulting services sold to international buyers. In addition, education (foreign students studying in NJ) and travel & tourism (international visitors to NJ) are also considered service exports.

New Exporter of the Year: Route66 International Inc. – Awarded to a New Jersey company that has begun exporting products or services within the last two years.

Minority Owned/Diverse Exporter of the Year: Zago Manufacturing Inc. – Awarded to a New Jersey company that is successfully exporting, whose owners or senior leaders and managers represent an underserved business community, which is defined as African American/Black, Asian American, Hispanic American, Native American, Veteran and Service-Disabled, Woman, or LGBTQI+.

Closely affiliated with the U.S. Commercial Service, New Jersey Offices, the NJDEC provides local leadership in international trade through its 30+ member council of international trade veterans and expertsl appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce.

The District Export Council collaborates with New Jersey businesses, public and private sector groups to stimulate economic growth through trade and investment; advocates for a well-informed public and political dialogue about global business in New Jersey; prepares New Jersey to be a “global ready” State; and supports the New Jersey U.S. Export Assistance Centers.

The New Jersey District Export Council, serves as an advocate for international trade issues that impact New Jersey. At the federal level, the New Jersey DEC works in conjunction with congressional and senatorial offices to represent export-oriented New Jersey businesses and their interests. The Council also works with city, county and state partners to address trade issues that are local and regional in nature.
